Dwayne Smith is the managing partner of Gardner Smith & Vaughan, a family-law firm in Fort Worth. He and his firm help their clients maintain and protect their children, assets, and relationships during and after the divorce process. Dwayne has a broad range of experience, having represented people with negative net worth, assets valued in the ten figures, and everything in between. This presentation will give you the information you need to assess and, if you want to, represent that distant family member or friend of a friend of a friend who calls you with a family-law question. If it hasn’t happened yet, it will. Please register here.

TCYLA Chili Cook Off
Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in TCYLA's first Chili Cook Off! We are especially grateful for our participants and judges - Judge Hagerman, Judge Eck, Judge Gallagher, Mandy Sherman, and Aulstin Gardiner - without whom this event could not have happened.
With our sponsors and patrons, we were able to raise $1,238 for The Suitcase Project. With the TYLA grant, this brings our total to $2,238 which we plan to use towards at least 75 suitcases for Tarrant County Foster children.
Jane Fowler won first prize and Laura Kornegay won Crowd Favorite. Both winners donated their winnings to The Suitcase Project.
We look forward to hosting this event next year.

Volunteer with TCYLA - Teen Court
Tuesdays | 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Fort Worth Municipal Court
1000 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth, TX 76102
Teen Court is a voluntary program that allows teens to perform community service and jury duty in lieu of paying fines for citations received from the City of Fort Worth. Successful completion of Teen Court results in dismissal of the citation and a clean record. Participants plead their case before a teen jury, the members of which then determine the appropriate community service hours to be performed within a three-month period.
TCYLA is encouraging its members to sign up to volunteer. Teen Court is in need of volunteers with
experience or training in the judicial/legal field to assist with training teen attorneys and to preside as judges for Teen Court hearings.
Apply to volunteer here. For questions, please reach out to John Easter.
