TCYLA Mental Health Series CLE Luncheon - Sleep & Stress

Dr. Stephanie Burchell is a Licensed Therapist and Certified Executive Coach based in the DFW Metroplex. 

Dr. Burchell completed her clinical training at the Beaver’s Family Studies Center at UT Southwestern in Dallas. She holds a Doctorate in Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University and a Masters of Science in Human Development from The University of Texas at Dallas. She is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (TAMFT).

With a background in psychology and a specialization in human relationships, Stephanie is currently developing a comprehensive model of Relational Intelligence. Combining years of research, observation and clinical intervention in the area of human dynamics, communication and relational systems, her approach aims to improve interpersonal relationships in the workplace - a key strategy for leadership development and a critical area of focus for organizations who understand success depends on cultivating the values of equality, trust, respect and honest communication.

TCYLA CLE Luncheon - Sealing Issues under Texas Rule 76a presented by Brian Singleterry

Please join us July 9, 2024 for TCYLA’s CLE Luncheon at Texas A&M School of Law as we welcome Brian Singleterry from Haynes and Boone LLP presenting:  “Maintaining Confidentiality in Texas Civil Courts.”

Brian is a trial lawyer with experience handling complex litigation in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, both in Texas and nationwide. A first-generation college graduate, Brian graduated first in his law-school class and, before joining Haynes Boone, cut his teeth as a lawyer serving as a prosecutor, plaintiffs’ lawyer, and law clerk. These experiences shaped his perspective, teaching him the value of avoiding litigation when possible, and the skills to succeed in litigation when it is necessary.  

Brian is committed to being active in the bar and his community. The recipient of the Tarrant County Bar Association’s 2023 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award, Brian has served many roles in the legal community, including president of the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association, chair of the Tarrant County Bar Association’s Business Litigation Section, and a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

 This presentation will be offered in-person at Texas A&M Law School.  Attendees may park in the 2 TAMU Law parking lots (directly behind the school) at 1401 Calhoun and 1501 Calhoun; entrance to both lots is off of 14th Street between Calhoun and Jones Streets.  The entrance to the building is at 1515 Commerce Street, facing the Water Gardens.

TCYLA CLE Luncheon - Mental Health Series: Imposter Syndrome

Do something good for your mental health, take a walk, earn some CLEs, and celebrate Reata’s last days at its old location by joining us on June 11th for the kickoff of the TCYLA’s Mental Health Series and hear from lawyer and professional counselor Kate Casey on imposter syndrome!

As a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor, Kate Casey is in private practice in Southlake serving in-person to those in the DFW Metroplex as well as serving clients virtually statewide. Her areas of expertise are grief and loss, helping attorneys and other professionals struggling with anxiety, depression, and burnout, and premarital counseling. She earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from Virginia Tech University. Casey also holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence and practiced Environmental Law before making a most satisfying career transition to Counseling. She has spent a third of her life living outside of the United States. Her experiences living abroad and learning from other cultures has shaped her worldview and, in turn, her counseling style.  In Kate’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three adult daughters, exploring nature, cooking, and reading.

Please join us March 12, 2024, for TCYLA’s CLE Luncheon at Reata as we welcome Lu Pham of Pham Harrison, LLP presenting:  “Employment Law Updates and Latest Trends. ”  

Lu is a founding partner of Pham Harrison, LLP. Lu’s practice is focused on employment and commercial litigation, and he has been involved in the defense of several class actions concerning employment and commercial disputes.  A former Adjunct Law Professor at Texas Wesleyan School of Law and former Municipal Judge for the City of Grand Prairie, he was named a Super Lawyer by Texas Lawyer magazine featuring the top 5% of attorneys in Texas—for 2004-2020.  Lu has also been awarded by the National Association of Pacific Asian Bar Association as one of the Best Lawyers Under 40 in 2002.  Lu is also the President of the Tarrant County Bar Association.

Paul is an associate attorney and certified information privacy professional.  As an advocate, he has represented clients in the courts and through negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. As an advisor, he has counseled start-ups, companies, government agencies, and fiduciaries. He has experience across a wide variety of industries, including finance, construction, education, and entertainment.  Paul received his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and his undergraduate from Clemson University.
