Chili Cook-Off
Do you think you have the best Chili in DFW? Let’s find out! Join us for our first Chili Cook-Off on January 28th. This is a family friendly event and all profits from the Chili Cook-Off go towards our grant project, The Suitcase Project.
The Suitcase Project provides duffle bags/suitcases for Tarrant County children placed in Temporary Foster Care. Tarrant County has around 611 children currently in Temporary Foster placements and these children often leave their homes with only the personal items they can carry, often carrying their personal items in trash bags. We are hoping to include hygiene items as well as an iron-on label with the child's name and identifying information. Suitcases are $28 each, Duffle bags are $17 each. Hygiene packs cost $10 each and include toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes/combs, hair ties, and deodorant. Younger children's packs will include a small blanket.

January CLE
Please join us on January 17, 2023 at 12:00 P.M., for TCYLA's CLE Luncheon at Reata as we welcome Tennesee W. Walker of Patterson Law Group presenting: “Ensuring that you and your family are properly insured, and earning extra income through referral fees.” Tennessee earned his J.D., University Honors, from Baylor Law School in 2008.
Tennessee Walker brings the invaluable insight and perspective of a defense attorney to his role as a Plaintiff’s trial lawyer. Tennessee is a former Shareholder at Harris, Finley & Bogle, P.C., one of the finest commercial law firms in the DFW area. After spending eight years defending businesses and individuals in a wide variety of disputes, Tennessee joined Patterson Law Group to apply his craft in a different way—to fight for people who have been injured. His ability to think like a defense attorney allows him to better serve his clients.
Tennessee was raised on a ranch in tiny Tehuacana, Texas. His father is a horse trainer and his mother is a dental assistant. Tennessee learned the need for, and meaning of, hard work at an early age, and he prides himself on the work ethic instilled in him by his parents. Today, he uses that work ethic to tirelessly fight for his clients. Tennessee continually strives to achieve justice for the injured—a truly worthy cause.

Volunteer with TCYLA - Teen Court
Tuesdays | 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Fort Worth Municipal Court
1000 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth, TX 76102
Teen Court is a voluntary program that allows teens to perform community service and jury duty in lieu of paying fines for citations received from the City of Fort Worth. Successful completion of Teen Court results in dismissal of the citation and a clean record. Participants plead their case before a teen jury, the members of which then determine the appropriate community service hours to be performed within a three-month period.
TCYLA is encouraging its members to sign up to volunteer. Teen Court is in need of volunteers with
experience or training in the judicial/legal field to assist with training teen attorneys and to preside as judges for Teen Court hearings.
Apply to volunteer here. For questions, please reach out to John Easter.
