Lee Hunt focuses his practice on intellectual property, entertainment law, and general commercial litigation in both state and federal court. Before joining Brackett & Ellis, he worked as a trademark examining attorney for the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia, examining applications for federal trademark registration, training and mentoring newly hired trademark examining attorneys, helping to draft legal policy, and providing outreach through the agency’s Texas Regional Office in Dallas. Since joining the firm, he has assisted clients in various matters involving intellectual property protection, including domain name disputes, DMCA takedown actions involving the sale of counterfeit goods, and pursuing copyright and trademark registrations.
Mr. Hunt currently serves as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Houston Law Center, teaching a course on trademark prosecution. He is also a trained mediator and provides volunteer mediations with various non-profit organizations throughout the State of Texas.
Before attending law school, Mr. Hunt served nearly eight years as a sworn officer with the Houston Police Department.
