JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Tag Challenge – FWTCYLA is taking the “Justice for All” License Plate Challenge to benefit Texas Access to Justice which supports legal aid to the poor.  To help us win, just purchase a “Justice for All” license plate for you, your family, friends and colleagues.  $25 of the $30 cost goes to a fund which provides legal aid to those who cannot afford it.  So far, Jefferson County is leading the charge, but we are one of the first young lawyers affiliates to take the challenge.  Help us win by purchasing your plate here: http://www.txdmv.gov/whatyouneed/forms/license_plates.htm and it is form VTR-999 Texas Young Lawyers (Justice for All) or fill out the attached form.  Please send a copy of the receipt to Brooke Ulrickson  at bau@browndean.com or a picture of your car and plate so we receive credit for the purchase. For more information, click here.

Fall Fête

Save the date for FW-TCYLA’s annual Fall Fête – our meet the judges event and membership drive. This year, the Fall Fete will be held at Texas de Brazil on September 16, 2010, from 5:30 – 7:30. Invitations will be mailed soon. Also watch your email for your annual dues invoice so you can attend the Fall Fête without having to register at the event.

   Mentor Program

The Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association is once again looking for mentors to participate in this year's Texas Wesleyan Law School Student Mentor Program. The program last year was a great success, and we hope to top it this year. The program is aimed at mentoring law students on their transition to practice and giving them insight into the real world of Tarrant County lawyers (this is not a job placement program).

The time commitment will be minimal, just meet with your mentee three times each semester. The program will run from September 2010 to April 2011. We'll have a kick-off event in September to start the program with details to follow.

Last year there was a waiting list of students looking for mentors, so we could really use your help.

If you can help out, please contact Vinny Circelli at Vincent.Circelli@haynesboone.com
